Santa Fe Real Estate Scene
February 2003 |
I've just returned from Argentina where the land flows
forever, the water is clean and blue, fishing is hot, the food
terrific, and the people friendly. Because of a 3:1 exchange
rate and an ongoing recession in Argentina, you can find some
great deals in real estate. Surprisingly, much of the climate
was like Santa Fe county — dry and breezy with many sunny
days. If you don't retire in Santa Fe, retire in Argentina.
Now we are back at work for you in Santa Fe, New Mexico. As
you will see in the MLS statistics below, fourth quarter Santa
Fe 2002 real estate sales were record setting almost across
the board. This mirrored the nation's strong demand for real
estate due to historically low interest rates and buyer demand
for investment security with tax benefits. Median price for
City of Santa Fe rose to $272,000. Higher Santa Fe prices were
driven by out-of-state demand for quality lifestyles, less
inventory available under $500,000; and inexpensive financing.
Santa Fe One Realty is now established in our new offices.
