2004 Santa Fe real estate sales set new records, fueled by low mortgage rates and creative financing programs. The average home price for City of Santa Fe and Santa Fe County jumped to $388,492. Total unit sales rose from 2,418 to 2,637. Santa Fe home values rose from 10-15% depending on the area.

2004 trends indicated:

  • Very strong demand from Santa Fe and Out of State Buyers
  • Retiring Baby Boomers now fueling the upper end of the market
  • Historic Eastside properties fetching up to $500 per square foot
  • Income/rental properties remain flat due to heavy inventory and less demand. Investors purchase instead of renting.
