March 2007

Broker Remarks

When the stock market took a drop of $500 billion in early March, I remembered why investment diversification is important.

Real Estate benefits versus Stock benefits...

  1. Real estate is far less volatile than the stock market.
  2. Real estate has superior tax benefits.
  3. Real estate can generate significant cash flow.
  4. Real estate allows investors a high degree of leverage with lower risk.
  5. Real estate appreciates because housing is a universal need, continuing a long term growth trend as populations grow and resources shrink.

Tax Tips for your 2006 filings

Time to prepare 2006 taxes and financially plan for your real investments 2007.

Always consult with your Accountant and Attorney before filing.
Some tips to consider:

  • Deduct your home mortgage interest
  • Deduct major home improvement costs / adding rooms, garages, landscape
  • Consider refinancing from an adjustable rate to a fixed rate
  • Contact your mortgage broker or bank for the latest finance ideas
  • Evaluate your situation, is 2007 time to invest or sell?
